On Thursday, February 24, 2005 the Mining Association of Canada hosted a luncheon on Parliament Hill. Joined by the Honourable Ethel Blondin-Andrew, Secretary of State for Northern Development and the Honourable R. John Efford, Minister of Natural Resources, our keynote speaker Eira Thomas, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stornoway Diamonds, spoke to Parliamentarians about the discovery and growth of Canada's diamond industry and examined the importance of a thriving exploration and mining industry in Canada.
